Congratulations go to Dave who is an OK9 top dog and his handler Emma Doree from Cleveland Police. In this article, you will discover what Dave has been up to, to deserve this honour.

Dave had to be on restricted duties recently due to an injury on duty as he hurt his paw and couldn’t walk very well. After a full recovery, Dave was back on the beat for Response Policing Week.

Dave and Emma met some lovely officers and staff who shared lots of stories about their work and how their own pets have helped them through some difficult times. Emma and Dave offered support and signposted individuals for further help when required.

Throughout the week Dave enjoyed plenty of head strokes, cuddles, and tummy rubs and used his ‘puppy eyes’ to entice the officers to feed him his favourite cucumber treats (these not only help his waistline but kept him cool and hydrated in the warm weather).

Dave loves going out and about and helping people and it’s all thanks to OK9 that he has been able to do so.

Well done Emma and Dave!
