Congratulations goes to Luna who is an OK9 top dog and her handler PC Wayne Softley who is a wellbeing coordinator for Bedfordshire Police, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Constabularies collaborated joint protective services. In this article you will discover what Luna has been up to to deserve this honour.

It's been a busy month for Luna and her handler Wayne. Together they have been offering support to a child who has been a victim of a serious crime, helping them deal with their trauma, get back some confidence and helping them trust the detectives on the case. They have also spent time offering support to a few teams after the passing away of one of their colleagues.

Luna has an amazing ability to break down barriers and get individuals to open up, whilst sharing the love.

Wayne said: "I can't put on my police uniform without Luna getting excited thinking she’s coming to work… being a OK9 wellbeing and trauma support dog is what a perfect way to harness her energy whilst helping others.

"We recently visited the Ministry of Defence to highlight the power of the OK9 dogs. She was a very busy girl as lots of officers made the effort to come and see her, and listen to an input from their wellbeing officer. As a result they are looking to secure their very own OK9 wellbeing dog."

Well done Luna.
