Agenda

9.30am - Opening by A/Chief Constable Jim Colwell

9.55am – Jonathan Peach - Psychological Safety: What, Why and How to

Stress, anxiety, burnout, we’re all familiar with these everyday terms. But the modern world has layered on some complications: moral injury, compassion fatigue, inclusivity, diversity, neurodiversity and the sometimes-nuanced difference between workplace banter and bullying.

These are all wrapped up in one term, psychological safety. It’s a big deal because it points to a BIG question: Do you feel safe to be you?

Creating world class teams. Rather than wrapping you up in complexity, this session creates clarity. It reveals psychological safety for what it is – rocket fuel for your team. Even better, you embark on a journey that will transform your workplace experience from a nightmare of self-doubt and anxiety into a haven of growth and positivity.

It is built around three key elements: Connection, belonging, and trust.

CONNECTION: we’ll show you how to build bridges, not walls, in your workplace.

BELONGING: is when you create a culture of ‘collective effervescence’. There’s a buzz, a vibrancy, and energy. Everyone is welcomed. These are the days when all those ‘extra mile’ behaviours come as standard.

TRUST: Think about how liberating it would be to make mistakes without fear of judgment or repercussions. Trust is the glue that holds teams together, and we'll help you foster an environment where trust thrives.

11.20am - Dr Sophie Bostock PHD: Trouble Sleeping? How sleep and mental health are linked, and how to improve both

Do you ever wake up in the early hours with a racing mind? Perhaps you worry about work, what needs to be done, or even that you're short of sleep? You’re not alone. But worry doesn’t have to keep you up at night.

Sleep and our emotions are intimately linked. In this session, we unpick the vicious cycle of stress and sleep loss, and simple steps to get your sleep back on track.

What Sophie will cover:

  • How the brain responds to sleep loss and how this alters our physical health, emotional wellbeing and behaviour
  • The core systems which control sleep quality, and how to make them work to your advantage
  • How to overcome stubborn sleep problems
  • Techniques for falling asleep and getting back to sleep that you can start to practice tonight

12.15pm – Nick Elston: Anxiety a personal journey

Based on his own experiences of mental illness, mental health and adversity - Nick will deliver a powerful, impactful, inspiring and insightful session sharing his journey from breakdown to professional speaker. Not only this, but Nick will also share his ‘lived experience guide’ giving you tools, tips & hacks to implement immediately in life and in business.
