Overview

There are two, two-day courses scheduled for June 2022.

What does it cost?
There is no charge for this training for home office forces.

Who's it for?
This course is aimed at police officers and police staff, who want to become peer supporters, to deliver timely practical support to individuals who want to speak to a peer supporter in their force, or by exception and only in agreement with their force, as part of mutual aid.
How will the session be run?
The course is currently delivered both as face-to-face training, or on Microsoft Teams.
What if I miss it?
Regular courses are available, subject to your force having adopted this training.

Peer Support training is scheduled for:

  • 16th and 17th June 2022 - Lancashire Constabulary (face-to-face training)
  • 28th and 29th June 2022 - West Mercia (online training)
     

Is this course for me?

The training will cover the following areas:                                                                   

  • an overview of the OK peer support model
  • the peer support process
  • an introduction to mental health and self care
  • non–clinical training for OK peer supporters

Please note, this is a two-day training course.

These courses regularly take place throughout the year and dates will be supplied directly to forces who have adopted this training.
 

How to access this training

To be considered for one of these courses, you must firstly contact your force wellbeing lead who may put your name forward. Please note we are unable to accept individual applications for this course.
