Please note: This course does not qualify you to diagnose mental health conditions but will assist you to support and sign post your staff to ensure that they stay well and get the help they need.
What is it?
A module-based psychoeducation course to help you understand basic mental health issues, how best to support someone and how to signpost them to professional help. We will also provide you with information on how to look after yourself.
What will you learn?
The course consists of an introductory module, followed by eight further modules which will cover the types of mental health conditions that colleagues may experience, signs and symptoms and how to best to support your supervisee. We will also cover topics such as assaults on staff and injury on duty, moral injury and embitterment and suicide.

Module 4. Injury on duty, investigation and embitterment and moral injury
Module 5. How to have the conversation
Module 6. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Module 7. How and when to signpost staff
Module 8. How to look after yourself
How long does it take to complete?
It will vary from person to person, but you should allow probably 60 - 90 minutes to go through and digest everything, make notes etc. You can go at your own pace - your progress is logged so you can log back out and in again if you can't complete in one sitting.
